Our mission is to promote and support a high quality education for gifted students, to inform and unite parents of gifted students in Hillsborough County, and to advocate on behalf of gifted students.

 

 

 

NOTICE OF ELECTION AND ANNUAL MEETING

GIFTED ADVOCACY COUNCIL OF HILLSBOROUGH, INC.

 

Pursuant to its by-laws, the Gifted Advocacy Council of Hillsborough, Inc. (GACH) hereby gives notice to its members that elections will occur on Monday, May 19, 2008 at 7:00 p.m., at the GACH Annual Meeting, to be held at Panera Bread, located at the corner of Westshore and Kennedy Boulevards.  Officers will be elected to the following positions:  2nd Vice President (in charge of programs) and Secretary (responsible for minutes and communications).  For more information about the duties and responsibilities of these positions, please contact president@GACHFlorida.org.

 

Members may nominate themselves or other members, with the nominee’s consent, for either of these positions.  Please submit nominations no later than May 14, 2008, to president@GACHFlorida.org.  A 100-word-or-less biographical statement is required of each candidate and must be submitted at the same time as the nomination.  Ballots will then be prepared and distributed to members, who may attend the annual meeting or vote by proxy.  To vote by proxy, members may e-mail their ballots, electronically signed, to president@GACHFlorida.org  no later than 12:00 p.m. on May 19, 2008.  A quorum of 10% of membership is required in order to hold the election.

 

In addition to the election, the May 19 meeting will also be an opportunity for members to share their ideas for future GACH programs and ways of providing support and advocacy for gifted students in Hillsborough County.  We hope to see you there!
